The Sports Journalist Club (KSN) after a successful restored premiere of last year and another year in the year. In the year 2017, 43 professional photojournalists were registered and sent a total of 501 pictures. The competition was continuously followed by the exhibition Sports Photography of 2017, which took place until 9 March 2018 in the exhibition grounds of the Old Town Hall and otherwise it will not be this year. The exhibition will take place with the support of the City of Prague, the Czech Olympic Committee and the Czech Union of Sport. It will also include a very unconventional show of JAROSLAV LEGNER's photographs, which ended the sporting photographer's career this year, and the exhibition will show a cross-section of the pictures in 30 years of his work. Selected competition pictures will be seen in the unique premises of the Cross Hall and the Knights Hall at the STAROMĚSTSKÉ Competition. The competition is a follow-up to the exhibition STO BEST SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHIES OF THE YEAR organized by the Club of Photojournalists at the Union of Czechoslovak Journalists in 1971 - 1988. With the idea of ​​an annual competition, club Jaroslav Skála (at that time the head of the photo-magazine of the picture weekly Stadion). Historically the first winner was Bohumil Until 1982 exhibitions took place at the Museum of Physical Education and Sport in Malá Strana, another five years later in 1992 the exhibition was restored by the Club of Sports Journalists. It began with a non-competitive show called Sport '89 -'91 in the Physical Education Museum, in the following years it was again competing and exhibitions hosted by the National Museum. The exhibition was named BEST The new concept originated with a show for 2002, when KSN started to work with the Czech Olympic Committee. Since the competition, exhibitions of comprehensive thematic files have been transferred from a smaller group of selected photojournalists. This format has taken the name Sport Foto over time and during the next innovation the show of the current pictures was supplemented by exhibitions of Czech legends
