Seven in ten students have acquired student loans, causing them to delay or completely pas* on the idea of owning their own homes, getting married, or starting families. With the financial burden of going to university or college growing even people pursuing the medical field are finding difficulties in setting up a life for Dr. Brandon Brym graduated from University of Colorado clas* of 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Integrative Physiology. He grew up in a family of medical practitioners and found his own path with physical therapy. After receiving his degree, he found a job at a clinic in Boulder, before being accepted into the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos. It was in those three years he racked up his student debt and a few months after graduation began his career. Even with Dr. Brym’s career choice and the amount of money he makes his choice in living location, San Diego, California, and his collected debt have made him an unmarried, thirty year old man, who pays $1,400 a month for a one bedroom apartment in North Park. Most will see that as a success story and to a point it is, but with the amount of debt he has to pay each month it takes away quite a few opportunities for him. A server, in the same location, makes eleven dollars an hour with the additional tips could get them to thirty to sixty dollars an hour. Saying they work a full forty hours a week, even at thirty dollars an hour they are making close to five thousand dollars a month.
