As of now, the Mercedes-AMG GT R is the most potent version of the performance-centric sub-brand’s two-seater. There’s no word of a Black Series version being in the pipeline but, given that a salable ultra-limited-production version of the Project One hypercar is in the works, it’s understandable that the mad scientists in Affalterbach are a bit preoccupied. Fortunately, aftermarket tuners like Domanig Autodesign are ready and able to pick up the slack, as the GT R based Domanig GTR (note the lack of a space, Daimler AG lawyers…) so vividly demonstrates. Not much of the body is different on the outside (aside from some rather boisterous es), but Domanig (and the Merc specialists at IMSA, not to be confused with the American sports car racing sanctioning body) did install a stylish set of D-Ultralight wheels (20” fronts, 21” rears) and a KW suspension kit that features a nose lifting mechanism to clear speed bumps and other obstacles. And for added thrust, the 4.0L biturbo V8 gets an ECU re-flash, bigger turbos, a new exhaust and other goodies to unleash 769 horsepower and 708 lb.-ft of torque. Domanig claims that, along with a reprogrammed and reinforced 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, allows this car to blast to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 205 mph. The Honda CB750, which debuted in 1969, was the first motorcycle to be anointed a “superbike.” Additionally, it gave rise to the CR750 racing bike, which famously won the Daytona 200 on debut in 1970 with rider Mann. It was this seminal machine that gave Gianluca Tiepolo and his team at Stile Italiano the inspiration for the groovy retro racer Moto Guzzi you see here. Dubbed the CR950, this fully-faired beast started life as a Moto Guzzi T3, though very little – if any – stock components remain. The frame has been m aged to fit under the retro cool bodywork (wearing an equally retro cool silver and gold over black paint job), while the bodywork has been notched to accommodate the signature north-south oriented V-twin (which has been enlarged by 100 cubic centimeters to 950). A set of 1980s-vintage anti-dive front forks up front and ultra-rare FOX air shocks in back help suspend the bike, while a Fontana 300 mm front drum brake and hand-made aluminum fuel tank contribute further to the throwback café racer vibe. Sadly, Stile Italiano has already sold the CR950 to fund future builds, but we’re sure Gianluca and crew would be happy to build you something conceptually similar…for a price, naturally. While certainly not as swanky as a the floating mansions of the superyacht and me acht realms, regular, moderately-sized motor yachts are still aspirational objects for many people when and if their ship comes in (Hey, given the amount of restraint we generally show toward going for easy/terrible puns, we deserve to be able to throw one in now and then.). And Austrian yacht builder Frauscher’s latest cabin cruiser provides a multitude of compelling reasons why you should be aspiring to own one. The Frauscher 1414 Demon, as this rakish boat is called, measures 46 feet in length from its flat bow and vertical stem (which can be fitted with an optional bow thruster for even more marvelous maneuverability) to its bathing-platform-topped stern. A pair of standard 400 horsepower or optional 520 horsepower inboard engines (fed fresh air by carbon fiber clad scoops) live beneath the large sunbathing platform, while the area below decks boasts a bathroom, kitchenette, lounge area and sleeping accommodations for up to four. You’ve got to admire the creativity of Swedish skiing star Jon Olsson: Rather than depriving himself of sick rides because they aren’t practical for use in the snow or carrying his gear, he instead works with tuners to turn create cars that can a) handle at least light dustings of snow, and b) be fitted with rooftop ski boxes. So we weren’t exactly shocked when we heard he had acquired a Lamborghini Huracan, and we were even less shocked to see how Jon has had it modified. The underlying body of this lurid Lambo is stock, however it is wrapped with a winter camo pattern vinyl wrap from WrapZone, and a custom carbon fiber box from 56 Nord sits atop the trailing edge of the roof and the engine cover. A KW suspension kit and a Girodiscs brake kit keep this Italian exotic even more planted than stock, which is good, since an Akrapovic exhaust system, Eventuri carbon fiber airboxes and a VF Engineering supercharger kit have all been attached to the 5.2L V10 to yield more than 800 horsepower.
