Motivation is a great thing to have. With motivation, the hard things become easier, the boring things become more fun, and everything just seems to magically get better…or at least not as bad as they once were. The thing with motivation though, is that sometimes it’s hard Even writing this now takes a considerable amount of motivation. Not having any active readers or followers definitely makes writing new posts more of a challenge. Questions such as “why am I even doing this?” or “who’s even going to read this?” constantly pop into my head. These questions definitely had an impact on me. I would stop posting after an entry or two, and even if new post ideas came up, I I write this today though with new found determination and motivation. I wanted to share what I think are the causes of lost motivation and “correct” mindsets to be in to help get back on track. I feel that one of the biggest reasons people lose motivation is that they don’t company of others, and being around others brings us some sort of happiness or fun. I believe this concept of being social applies to Just to present an example, I have a friend who over the summer worked with a group of his close friends to make a game. They would release regular updates with actual content… Actual. Content. Compared to myself who was struggling making his own personal website, it looked rather pathetic on my part how I couldn’t really make any headway such an easy project in comparison. This stark contrast really made me wonder why I wasn’t getting work done and why I wasn’t feeling motivated at all. Scrutinizing this example more, the main difference between the two is that my friend had a group of friends to work with, while I went solo. Whether you work alone or with a group, you are bound to make some sort of progress, and in that, small victories.
