Every model brings people together and starts conversations about topics we would not normally discuss. TJMUN is turning ten this year and we are nothing but thrilled to have you celebrate with us and help us to leave a legacy We look forward to seeing you on December 6th, 7th & 8th and follow our social media accounts to watch as this model comes together. Thomas Jefferson Model United Nations (TJMUN) is a dynamic experience in which students develop skills such as diplomacy, critical thinking, problem solving, and cooperation. Students take the role of representatives from different international organizations, debate and attempt to find viable solutions to problems that affect our world. The purpose of TJMUN is to create a greater awareness of global issues by engaging topics concerning security, economic progress, and social development. This year we would like to emphasize the importance of getting informed about the different issues that affect the world and to actually develop an informed opinion about them. In order to motivate students and to be constructive rather than critical, at the end of the model the best delegates receive an award as a recognition of their collaboration, creativity and conflict resolution skills rather than a competitive prize. Delegates leave TJMUN empowered, with the motivation and knowledge that they can make a difference in the world
