Registration of all drawings and technical docu*ents stipulated by the standards for the drawing economy system, performed on separate sheets or on one common sheet with the allocation of formats for each drawing in it, are formatted in accordance with GOST 3450 - 60. The largest basic format is the format, the area of ​​which equals ~ 1m2, i.e. x × y = ~ 1,000,000 mm2. (Where x and y are the sizes of the sides of the largest basic format). Each subsequent main format is obtained by dividing the previous format. All main formats of the drawings are similar, that is, the relations of their parties are the same. In the largest and subsequent formats x ÷ y = (y ÷ 2) ÷ x. The unit of measurement of all formats of drawings adopted the smallest basic format, the size of which is 297 X 210 mm. Each format in the drawing is indicated by two numbers, of which the first shows how many times the size 297 is contained in one side of this format, and the second - how many times the size 210 is contained in the other, for example, in format 11 one side is 291 X 1 and the second is 210 X 1; in foomate 24 one side is equal to 297 X 2, and the second 210 X 4 (Figure No. 1 and Table 1).
