UN SECRETARY GENERAL’S SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE ON VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN TO ADDRESS WABF2019. We are delighted to announce that Marta Santos Pais, UN Secretary-General Special Representative on Violence Against Children, will be giving a keynote address in Dublin at the World Anti Bullying Forum 2019, June 4-6. Marta Santos Pais was appointed as Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children (SRSG) on May 1st, 2009, and took up her position on September 1st, 2009. As a high level global independent advocate, Marta Santos Pais promotes the prevention and elimination of all forms of violence against children in the justice setting, in the home, in institutional care, in schools, in the workplace and in the community. She acts as a bridge builder in all regions, and across sectors and settings where violence We are very proud and excited that the second World Anti-Bullying Forum will take place in Dublin, Ireland, on June 4-6th 2019. The aim of this unique international and multidisciplinary forum is to broaden our understanding of bullying and to create a stronger bridge between the disciplines, and spread knowledge to more practitioners, researchers and decision-makers around the world. The overall goal is to create even more effective approaches to tackling bullying and allow every child and young person the right to grow up without being bullied, ostracized or discriminated against. As the initiators of the forum, we are particularly proud that it is arranged together with the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Center at the Dublin City University as well as with the International Bullying Prevention The aim of this international and multidisciplinary forum is to broaden our understanding of bullying, haras*ment, discrimination, ostracism and other forms of degrading treatment and violence among children and youth. The forum will encourage this by sharing knowledge and exploring new perspectives and acknowledging that bullying and other forms of inhumane or degrading treatment have to be understood
