When the unemploy… As part of an eight-day visit to southeastern Wisconsin to research healthcare systems and health ed… Darshell Garner is the winner of the 2018 Grit Award, given to a student who has a compelling story of perseverance and determination. Early on in her education, Darshell experienced severe back pain that required major surgery. Her spinal fusion procedure was unsuccessful and resulted in permanent nerve damage and chronic pain. With the help of her friends, family and faith, Darshell pushed through and succeeded. She was named an Outstanding Student in the Human Resources program, and she recently started working as an employee in WCTC’s Human Resources Department. Congratulations, and well deserved, Darshell!
