DELHI AIR QUALITY IMPROVES SLIGHTLY, BUT REMAINS AT 'VERY POOR' LEVEL. On Wednesday afternoon, Delhi’s air quality improved slightly, with the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) easing to 360 after touching the ‘severe’ level of 401 on Tuesday evening.  There was some good news for Delhiites worried about the effects of firecrackers during the upcoming Diwali festival: the Supreme Court declared on Wednesday that only green, i.e. less polluting, firecrackers can be sold in the capital this festive season.  Except for Gurugram, other areas near Delhi also witnessed a slight improvement in air quality.
