A very masculine mid century bar cabinet, made for a private commission. American walnut, silky oak and 9,600 year old blackened red gum pulls. Shop-made veneered doors and solid walnut casework everywhere else. Mirror splash back and door-racks built in to the top section. A garden potting table built for the outdoors, 91cm high x 130cm wide x 60cm de*p, two drawers and a lower shelf mounted on castors. Constructed from western red cedar, concrete, ash and english oak, finished with oil. I love the lines on this, the way the red and grey work together, and how something quite heavy was made to look light and pe*ite. American walnut chosen for its almost reptilian grain was use for the front of these drawers of the bar cabinet, complemented by hand made This kitchen bench is made from mild steel and European beech, comfortably seating six hungry humans on standard 650mm high stools. It is 1.6m long, 0.8m wide and 0.9m high. The steel frame is left quite raw looking but finished with waxes and oils for protection. The solid top is finished with an oil-based varnish and polished with a eucalyptus wax.
