this is a site where i post reviews of cds, dvds, lps, and concerts. i have been writing music reviews on and off since 1984. i ran a heavy metal fanzine from 1984-1988 called metal madness and have been a staff writer for aural innovations for many years. i have also contributed to chrohinga well (rip), bad acid (rip), lowcut (rip), roadburn and a number of other zines as well. i recently moved to portugal so please request the new address and do not send any music to denmark anymore. tak. these are some of the records that i played and enjoyed the most this year. de*p space destructors- visions from the void (space rock productions) black moon circle- psychedelic spacelord lp (crispin glover) black label society- grimmest hits (entertainment one) kikagaku moyo- masana temples lp (guru guru brain) seun kuti, and egpyt 80- black times (strut records) brant bjork- mandkind woman (heavy psych sounds) the golden gras* absolutely (listenable). stone oak cosmonaut- the last machine (self released) øresund space collective- chatoyant breath 2lp (space rock. sammal suuliekki lp (svart) pyraimidal- psychedelic network (sunhair) astrodome- ii tape (self released) øsc- live in berlin (space rock productions) motorpsycho- roadwork vol 5  (stickman) saturnia- the séance tapes  (elektrohasch). warp transmission- the process ultra (creepy crawl) astral son- wonderful beyond (sulatron) sleep- the sciences 2lp (third man records) earthless- from the west (silver current records) sista maj- bismut is a pretty new dutch band featuring peter, hulbert and nick.  the album is 4 pretty long pieces (between 8-14mins in length) of pretty jammed out and improvised stoner rock.  it was all recorded live in the studio with no edits in april 2018. side a starts off with a pretty slow, stoney track but mostly it a long lead guitar jam with the other guys following along for nearly the first half of the song and then they kick into a riff and groove and off we go.  the guitar goes off into sound effect mode briefly towards the end of the track
